Today, we’re thrilled to have a rising star in the P-Pop scene gracing us with her presence. Prepare to be blown away by her talent and captivating charisma!
Chryzquin is a multi-talented artist who can sing, rap, dance, and perform with an energy that’s simply contagious. Signed under BLVCK Entertainment and Blvck Music Label, she’s set to dominate the P-Pop scene and beyond!
You’re described as a multi-talented artist with a range of skills. What initially drew you to the world of performing, and which skill are you most passionate about?
Music has always been a big part of my life. Growing up, my dad would play songs around the house, and before I could even talk properly, I was already dancing and singing along at just two years old. That early love for performing naturally grew into a real passion.
While I’m equally passionate about both singing and dancing, I’ve had formal dance training since I was five, so it feels like second nature to me. But at the end of the day, performing as a whole, whether through music or movement is what truly excites me.
You were a member of the Ppop girl group #BlvckFlowers. What was that experience like, and what did you learn from your time with the group?
Being a pre-debut member of BlvckFlowers was an incredible learning experience. Training with the group for a year taught me so much not just about performing, but also about teamwork, leadership, and adapting to different personalities.
I learned the importance of trusting the process, creating space for everyone to be heard, and working toward a shared vision. Even though I didn’t debut with them, that chapter in my journey only strengthened my determination to keep pushing forward and keep chasing my dreams.
It taught me resilience, patience, and the mindset to keep growing, keep doing what I love no matter the challenges, and that setbacks & others judgement don’t define me.
You were also a contestant on ABS CBN’s #DanceKids 2015, sharing the stage with other successful artists like AC Bonifacio and BGYO Nate. What was that experience like for you, and how did it shape your career aspirations?
Being on Abs CBN Dance Kids was definitely one of the highlights of my dance journey.
It was the first time I truly realized how many people connected with my dancing. Since I specialized in dancesport, I wasn’t sure if the audience would understand or appreciate my style, but seeing their support, getting messages from kids, fan-made names, gifts, and even meet and greet requests was such a heartwarming experience.
Being on TV also introduced me to a wider audience and opened new doors for me. Dance Kids alumni or artists like AC Bonifacio and Nate of BGYO were incredibly inspiring. Seeing where they are now reminds me that with hard work, passion, and perseverance, anything is possible. Their dedication motivates me to keep pushing forward, knowing that I, too, can turn my dreams into reality.
You’ve also participated in various talent shows, including Showtime’s #GirlOnFire 2023. How did these experiences prepare you for a solo career?
My Its Showtime Girl on Fire journey was a huge turning point for me. Going into the competition, I never imagined I could stand out among 150 incredibly talented dancers, many of whom were already well-known in the industry. But making it to the grand finals and placing 4th, just 0.01 points away from the top 3, proved to me that I have what it takes to be a winner.
More than just a competition, it was also a moment of growth. Representing the dancesport community on such a big stage was an honor, and I’m proud to have helped bring more awareness to our dance genre. Competing solo in Girl on Fire also prepared me for my journey as a solo artist, it pushed me to trust in my abilities, step out of my comfort zone, and build even more confidence in myself and my skills. Being one of the youngest in the program made the experience even more empowering, proving that age doesn’t define potential, it’s really all about hard work, values and passion.
How do you think your diverse background in dance, singing, and performance has influenced your unique style as an artist?
My diverse background in dance, singing, and performance has played a huge role in shaping my unique style as an artist. Every experience, from the competitions I’ve joined to the intense training I’ve undergone, has helped me discover my strengths and define what I can offer that’s truly my own. Being exposed to different styles and sharing the stage with incredibly talented artists has also given me a deeper understanding of what makes a performer stand out.
These experiences have allowed me to blend my skills in a way that feels authentic to me. I don’t just perform I tell a story through movement, music, and energy. I’ve learned how to bring my own flavor to the stage, something that audiences can connect with and remember. My goal is always to give something fresh, exciting, and uniquely me.
You’re releasing your debut single, “‘Di Na.” How does this song reflect your growth as an artist, particularly since your time in BlvckFlowers?
Releasing “Di Na” is such a special milestone for me because it’s not just my debut single it’s a reflection of my growth as an artist. This song allowed me to explore my musicality beyond just singing. I co-wrote it with my producer, which was an incredible experience. Being able to put my own words and emotions into a song and bring it to life is something I didn’t get to do before, especially during my time with BlvckFlowers, where our songs were usually pre-written for us.
Another big difference is the style of the song. With my former group, we focused more on rap-heavy and strong, high-energy tracks. But Di Na has a softer, more colorful, and relaxing feel, with hints of country and hip-hop influences. It’s a fresh take on my artistry, and I love that it showcases a different side of me while still staying true to my personality. This whole process has been a journey of discovery, and I’m excited for people to hear this new chapter of my music.
As a multi-talented artist, how do you balance your skills in your music, particularly when it comes to singing and rapping?
Balancing my skills in singing and rapping is something I approach with a lot of thought, and I’m lucky to have a great support system guiding me. My management, Blvck Entertainment my bosses and mentors play a huge role in helping me find the right sound and direction especially our CEOs who are very hands on and involved in the process. We brainstorm together to decide what works best for each song whether to highlight my singing, incorporate rap, or find a balance between the two.
Beyond that, they also make sure I’m constantly improving. I go through continuous training to refine my strengths and work on my weaknesses, ensuring that I grow as a well-rounded artist. It’s all about finding the right blend that feels authentic & comfortable to me so we can give the listeners something refreshing & exciting.
What do you hope your music will communicate to your fans and listeners?
I want my music to be something people can connect with whether it’s through the lyrics, the melodies, or the energy of the song. I hope my music makes people feel understood, empowered, and inspired.
I wanted to be able to give them songs that might make them want to dance and have fun, also songs that might give them comfort or motivation. More than anything, I want my music to be a reflection of who I am, so that when people listen, they feel like they’re experiencing something real and relatable.
What are your goals for your solo career? What kind of impact do you hope to make on the Ppop scene?
My ultimate goal is to be recognized globally as an artist who proudly represents Filipino culture and music. I want to contribute to the growth of P-pop by creating songs that people can truly connect with music that empowers, inspires, and expresses emotions that are sometimes easier to say through a song.
Beyond that, I want to showcase my full potential as a singer, dancer, and total performer.
I hope to make an impact not just through my music but also through my performances, showing that P-pop artists can stand on the world stage. More than anything, I want to inspire others to chase their dreams fearlessly, just as I am doing now.
What kind of music do you see yourself making in the future? Will you continue to explore different genres?
I see myself as a diverse artist who isn’t afraid to explore different styles and genres. While I am now into P-pop, I want to experiment with pop-rock, hip-hop, R&B, and even ballads. More than that, I’m excited to incorporate Filipino sounds with international influences, creating something fresh and unique.
Since I grew up listening to Latin music and have a background in Latin dance, I’d love to blend Filipino and Latin sounds, or even explore a fusion like Filipino-Korean pop. Music is all about evolution, and I want my artistry to reflect that, always growing, always pushing boundaries, and always bringing something new to the table.
You have a large and enthusiastic following across social media. How do you interact with your fans, and what do you appreciate most about their support?
I love interacting with my fans on social media because it feels like we’re all part of one big, supportive family. I try to stay as connected as possible, whether it’s through responding to comments, sharing behind-the-scenes content, or simply showing my appreciation for their support through my tiktok dances. I also love engaging with them through group chats and sometimes live streams.
What I appreciate most is their genuine love and encouragement. It’s incredible to see how they cheer me on no matter where I am in my journey. Sometimes they are even more supportive than those people I got on my personal account. Their support not only motivates me to keep going but also reminds me why I do this in the first place and that’s because of the people who believe in me, my dancing and now.my music.
What advice would you give to other aspiring Ppop artists who are just starting their journey?
My advice would be to stay true to yourself and never stop learning. The journey to becoming an artist can be tough, but it’s important to be patient and trust the process.
Learn how to listen and be open to ideas even criticisms. Keep working on your craft, whether that’s singing, dancing, or performing as a whole and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Surround yourself with a strong support system, and remember that every setback is just an opportunity to grow. Most importantly, believe in your dreams and stay consistent, because the journey is worth it.
With your debut single on the horizon, what are you most excited about for the future?
I’m incredibly excited for the future, especially with my debut single “Di Na” coming out. What excites me the most is sharing my music with the world and connecting with my fans in a deeper way more than just dancing.
I can’t wait to see how people react to my sound, and I’m eager to continue growing as an artist. In the future, I’m looking forward to experimenting with different styles, doing more live performances, and just continuing to evolve until the world recognizes my name as a global artist, to the point where I don’t even need to introduce myself anymore because people will already know who I am. The journey has just begun, and I’m excited to see how it takes me to success.
