How does your solo artistry let you balance raw self-expression with resonating deeply, especially with female listeners?

I think it definitely impacts a lot of my work. Since I had never sung a song that I wrote on my own before, it gave me the power to express my thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Most importantly, I love listening to songs with personal emotions and relatable lyrics, they touch the core of my heart. That feeling inspires me to write lyrics like that too. Even though I write songs that people might assume are meant for a female audience, surprisingly, most of my audience is actually male. I think that changed after I released pity dirty, haha. But I hope my song can resonate to all genders.

How do you stay creatively consistent and authentic while releasing so much music (like your 2024 EP and singles) as a solo artist?

Honestly, releasing that much music in one year (especially as a solo artist) I feel really lucky. I’ve got a solid team behind me, and one person in particular who’s always looking out for me. That kind of support means a lot. It lets me focus on the part I love most: creating. My process is pretty personal. I don’t really plan it out too much. Things happen in my life, and somehow they just turn into songs. Songwriting’s kind of like my way of talking. I’m not always great at saying things face to face, but when I’m alone in my room, writing, I can really open up. That’s when everything just flows. And I think that’s why I’ve been able to keep it going. It’s not about trying to pump out content..it’s just me being real with what I’m feeling in the moment. That’s how I stay consistent. That’s how I stay true to myself.

How did your 2024 Asia tour (South Korea/Japan/China) shape your music and perspective as an indie artist, especially connecting with female fans?

To be honest, I was really surprised. and so happy to see so many people from different countries. Hearing the cheers, feeling the energy from audiences across South Korea, Japan, and China… it was such a unique experience. Every crowd had its own vibe, its own rhythm. That really stuck with me. What excites me most is seeing how Asian indie music is growing. It feels like there’s a bigger audience now, and more attention than ever before. That gives me hope, not just for myself, but for so many small indie artists who’ve been quietly creating beautiful work for years. It makes me feel like the ladder to go international… it’s not as far as it used to be. We’re getting closer. And being part of that wave, even in a small way, is honestly kind of magical

What inspired ‘Pity Dirty’s cheeky, flirty vibe, and what message do you want women to take from it as a pop/indie artist?

Pity Dirty” is like the secret side of me—the part I don’t usually show. I can be flirty, a little cheeky, and I do love to tease… but deep down, I’m fiercely loyal. You know how girls are? We’re layered. Bold without being direct, soft but still powerful. I hate confrontation, but I’ll confess my feelings in my own sly way. There’s something so charming about that quiet confidence, the kind that speaks through glances instead of words.

This song is me embracing that duality. It’s for the girls who are sweet but aren’t afraid to stir the pot. A reminder that you can be soft and spicy, tender and troublemaking, and still unapologetically you. But hey, who knows? Maybe one day I’ll drop the games and go all-in when I meet someone worth it. Hee hee.

What’s the hidden tension in Pity Dirty’s bike ride metaphor—and how does your honesty as an artist amplify its attraction/curiosity themes for women?

Well, I think… when you know, you know.  And for anyone who doesn’t get it..maybe it’s better to just let it stay a little secret. That’s kind of the fun of pity dirty, you know? It’s not loud or obvious. It’s playful, it’s suggestive, and it leaves space for curiosity.
