In a world where passion often demands compartmentalization, Faith Calvez defies labels. By day, she navigates the fast-paced realm of customer service; by night, she transforms into a living homage to 2NE1’s iconic leader, CL, while crafting makeup magic and curating content that pulses with Kpop energy. Faith stitches together her love for performance, artistry, and community into a tapestry as bold as the looks she creates.
But how does one balance the grind of a 9-to-5 with the glittering chaos of cosplay, makeup artistry, and content creation? What drives her to channel CL’s fierce authenticity, and how does she weave that inspiration into her own artistic identity? In this interview, we dive into Faith’s journey—a story of relentless hustle, creative evolution, and the unshakable belief that art isn’t just what you do… it’s who you are.
Faith, you’re juggling quite a few creative pursuits! How do you balance your work in customer service with your passions as a performer, cosplayer, makeup artist, and content creator? What are some of the biggest challenges and rewards of this multifaceted approach?
I usually make plans in my head and most of the time I follow through my energy to get things done, but I do have days when I just don’t feel like doing anything I planned. My current work in customer service is already set weekly. Everything else had to be done on my off days.
I had moments when an idea came up but I hesitated to act on it and I regret it after, so now, if I have something in my mind I really push myself to get it done at least half of the process. Right now, the biggest challenge is being far from all the happenings. I mostly have to travel 2-3 hours to get to certain places: events, gigs, rehearsals you name it. The reward for me is always having fun and making the most out of it.
Your cosplay as CL from 2NE1 is incredibly detailed. What draws you to 2NE1 and CL specifically, and what’s the most rewarding (or challenging) aspect of bringing that character to life?
Thank you for saying that, I love when people compliment me with my CL cosplay.
2NE1 has always been ahead of their time, they are one of the few artist groups out there who truly embody the baddie concept making it look effortless too. CL just has this aura that I’ve never seen from any artist. If confidence was in a human form, it would be her.
The most challenging personally would be the frustration of not making it similar to her, e.g. performance, costume, stage presence, IN MY POINT OF VIEW I’m a bit of a perfectionist so it kinda stresses me out when the outfit don’t turn out the way I want them in my head, especially now that I’m more capable financially.
Also at this point, I’m not trying to get a win or a certificate for cosplaying her. I do what I can by my heart and have fun with it.
How do your different creative skills inform and influence each other? For example, does your experience as a makeup artist help with your cosplay or content creation?
*Oh yes, 💯 learning how to do make up was definitely a game changer, doing cosplay and non cosplay makeup made things more fun and easy for me. I love makeup, I love learning and talking about it, it’s probably one of the things I’ll retain if I ever stop cosplaying or being a performer. I wish to make it a career too.
Many aspiring artists struggle to find a balance between their passion and financial stability. How have you navigated that challenge, and what advice would you give to others facing a similar situation?
*The answer is… money 😆, that’s my straight answer.
It’s very hard to keep things going when you don’t have money. I love being an artist but I need money to finance myself, hence, I have to keep a job. so most of my gigs don’t provide TF (Talent Fee), I do it for fun and to fulfill my heart and then next day, go to work. It’s very rare that an artist started earning right after they’re 1st appearance. Most of them took a while and a plot twist. But there are people out there who are singers/performers by career, which is great and honestly, I would love that too. But you really have to be extremely good at it to qualify.
Being an artist in the 🇵🇭 is a challenge. You find yourself stuck wanting to do more as an artist but you have to clock in at your 9-5 because you have bills to pay and mouths to feed, also it’s hard to save money. But, one thing I could tell everyone to hold on to is, ‘take your time’, being in a hurry could potentially set you up for failure and fatigue, and it’s not fun doing art when your body is too tired but your brain is up there and you can’t rest. So, chill out, keep going and take your time. Success isn’t overnight and keep your jobs until you’re stable enough to let go
What kind of performer do you aspire to be? What are your biggest influences, and what kind of message or feeling do you hope to convey through your performances?
I wanted to be a female soloist like CL, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Jessi, Utada Hikaru or Sarah G or even Chappelle Roan., a strong female who performs with great stage presence and makes their own standards. I’m terrible at dancing tho 😆 but basically, I want everyone to feel like they can be anything they want to be even for a while. Feel what they wanna feel and never hide or be put in a box or be told they’re too much or too less. Just vibe and be free.
What are your long-term goals as a performer? Are there specific types of performances or projects you’re particularly excited about?
Honestly, I’m just gonna go with the flow until I’m performing with my favorite artist on stage. I’m always happy and excited about being out there, onstage. I’d love to learn how to make songs too, but right now that’s all that really matters to me. Just being seen, if I’m lucky, I wanna be part of the PPOP roster 😆❤️

What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced in pursuing your performing career, and how have you overcome them?
Balancing careers of different industries. It’s still a challenge, but then again, I don’t see myself stopping, taking a rest, yes, but not giving up.
What inspires your creativity, and how do you stay motivated when facing setbacks?
I surround myself with creative people. A year ago, I was not in a good place and lost of what I wanted to do in life but somehow I discovered DPR IAN, it opened my eyes to a whole new level of artistic creation, and the Dreamers, DPR fandom are such creative and talented people, that, as a whole motivates me to pick myself up, I’m very thankful for DPR for reigniting my passion for performance art.
What platforms do you primarily use for content creation? What kind of content do you enjoy creating the most, and what are your goals for your online presence?
I’m on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter and Youtube.
Currently, doing more on TikTok because the reach is wider. People seem to be attracted to Kpop related contents but my contents right now are just anything I wanted to show people.
How do you engage with your audience online? What kind of feedback or interactions do you find most valuable?
This is funny because, the most valuable kind of interaction are the ones where I respond to negative comments
But I don’t talk back, I just use that negative comment to post more of my videos. I’m too old to cry over insults. I insult myself on a daily basis, I don’t think theirs can shake me. My biggest hater is myself.
What advice would you give to other aspiring content creators? What are some of the most important lessons you’ve learned along the way?
Just keep going, honestly, if you feel stuck, remember it’s just a feeling, what stops you is overthinking, understandable yes, but don’t let it consume your life, you’ll find yourself not progressing if you’re hard on yourself. Be kind to yourself and to everyone also, you can be scared, that’s normal, but DO IT SCARED 😘
