DISSY, the Thai girl group consisting of five members—Megan, Tina, Lalacha, Vivian, and Tangtang—has garnered significant attention since their debut. With their unique musical style and vibrant stage presence, they have quickly emerged in the Thai pop music scene.
The members of DISSY are not only charming but also talented, and their music is full of youthful energy and aspirations for the future. In this interview, we will delve into DISSY’s formation story, musical philosophy, and their plans for the future. Join us as we step into the musical world of these five girls and experience their dreams and passion. Let’s get started!
How did you come up with the name ‘DISSY’ for the group? What’s the story behind it?”
Beyond its stated meaning — Diss + Missy, which defines the visual concept or outward appearance — DISSY also carries a deeper double meaning as an acronym that expresses its spirit:
D – Dissent: the initial refusal to conform or accept authority.
I – Incite: turning dissent into action by provoking others.
S – Subvert: undermining or destabilizing existing structures.
S – Shatter: the breaking point, when the old system collapses.
Y – Yowl: the raw, defiant cry that follows — both a battle-cry and an expression of survival/identity.
Together, this forms the path of rebellion. These stages can be read as chronological steps in revolt or as recurring states of defiance that embody the essence of DISSY.
How would you describe DISSY’s signature sound to someone who’s never heard your music before?
A pop rock anthem with some digital elements about self empowerment
What are some of the musical influences that have shaped DISSY’s style, and how do you blend them to create something new and unique?
The concept was to convert y2k pop rock or alternative rock music normally associated with bands into something suitable for a girl group to perform while maintaining the raw emotions of the rock genre.

As the leader of DISSY, what leadership style do you employ, and how do you motivate the other members?
I believe my leadership style is more about compromise and open communication. Whenever challenges arise, I usually prefer to talk with the members privately rather than being overly strict or authoritative. In terms of motivation, I try to lead by example by showing the responsibility that each of us should carry, so that everyone can recognize it and follow through.
How do you balance your responsibilities as a leader with your role as a sub-vocalist?
For me, I try to manage my time and give importance to both roles. During practice, I focus on singing and improving my weaknesses as a sub-vocalist. At the same time, I also observe the members and give them encouragement whenever they need it.
What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced as a leader, and how have you overcome them?
The biggest challenge for me was when some members considered leaving the group, while I wanted to hold us together. I was able to overcome this because we had honest conversations and eventually learned to let go and move forward together.

As the main vocalist of DISSY, what vocal techniques do you use to deliver powerful and emotive performances?”
I use a lot of belting and mix voice to bring out power, but I also switch into head voice when I want a softer, emotional feeling. I think combining these makes my singing more expressive, so I can show different sides of myself depending on the song.
What are your goals for your vocal performance in DISSY, and how do you plan to continue improving?
I want my singing to become more dynamic and powerful than it is now. Another goal is to harmonize well with my team, because I think it’s important that we create a strong sound together. And when I’m on stage, I want the audience to see different sides of me like switching into another personality so the audience can really feel the performance.
How has being a member of DISSY helped you grow as an individual, both personally and professionally?“
Being in DISSY has really taught me patience. I’ve always been the type of person who says my honest opinion right away and sometimes tries to prove that I’m right. But in a group, everyone has different personalities, ages, and experiences in life. I realized that it’s not always about proving myself, sometimes it’s just about listening and understanding each other.
What are some of the biggest lessons you’ve learned from each other as members of DISSY?
The biggest lesson is that not everything in life is fair, and that’s okay. Even when things don’t go the way you want, you still need to stay kind and respectful. Everyone comes from different backgrounds and sees life differently. Respecting that has made us stronger as a team and also taught me a lot about myself.
What message do you want to leave with your fans as DISSY embarks on its journey?
I want our fans to know that it’s okay to be yourself, even if you feel misunderstood sometimes. I believe strength comes from turning your own struggles and emotions into something powerful. So if you support us, I hope you can also find strength in yourself through our music and our journey.
What advice would you give to aspiring T-pop artists who dream of forming a group?
Dream as big as you can. If you can imagine something that feels impossible, then you can also reach it one day. If you believe that T-pop can grow even bigger, maybe even as big as K-pop, then go for it. Never give up, no matter what challenges you face. Don’t let things like being foreign, being “too old,” or any other excuse stop you. If you keep going, keep believing, and stay true to yourself, you’ll find your place.

As the youngest member of DISSY, what unique perspective do you bring to the group?
As the youngest member in the group, I think as myself being initially creative in various aspects I usually be able to bring up the new ideas and actions that haven’t been used or proposed before. I always love to try some fun and creative alternatives both related to our group and other essential elements to share with other members, including concept, theme, songs, choreography, and etc.
I always be able to see not only the flaws, but also the best of each member even in some moments they never know or figure that they initially have those qualities inside themselves. I am eager to share what I considered as good to our group to help support each member’s confidence and bring out their identities as much as possible.
How do you balance your responsibilities as a performer with your personal life and education?
Of course this is the most challenging part of being able to manage both performer and personal life where I always have a lot of routines that must be accomplished each day apart from studying too.
I always write down the to do lists every morning since I wake up or for someday that I am very busy I will need to manage prioritizing things in my mind and also setting the deadlines for each activity too.
What are some of the challenges you’ve faced as a young performer, and how have you overcome them?
Sometimes as a young performer it may seem like I am lacking some experiences in terms of working so I will be judged as inexperienced or being underestimated before I even show what I can really do. However, I will always let my actions speak then that would be the right time to judge and rate me.
What are your goals for your vocal performance in DISSY, and how do you plan to continue improving?
My goals for my vocal performance are being able to steadily and strongly project my voice with a proper emotion sense to make my vocal more meaningful in order to reach the audiences. I always think about what I want to communicate before singing every single time I am going on a stage as I want my performances to be as meaningful and memorable as possible.
How has being a member of DISSY helped you grow as an individual, both personally and professionally?
Being one of a member in DISSY especially the youngest really helps me learn and grow in a way of cooperating and working with other older ones. I experience many different and various ways in handling many types of situations professionally and successfully.
What are some of the biggest lessons you’ve learned from each other as members of DISSY?
One of the biggest lessons I have learned is to keep in mind that not everyone is the same, including the thoughts, background, skills, way of working, way in expression, and interpretation.
Therefore, being mindful and careful about my actions, thoughts, and expressions is very important. Understanding each other’s perspectives is very important in working as a group. Try to think if you were that person would you do the same as them, thinking like this really helps me understand others more about their actions and reasons behind.
What message do you want to leave with your fans as DISSY embarks on its journey?
I want to say that I am absolutely grateful for this position I’m in and i appreciate it so much as I have a fan who always supports me and DISSY. Fans are one of the motivation for me to work and practice even harder and harder to be a better artist, performing the best out of me. I hope we can enjoy this endless wonderful journey together and let’s keep supporting each other like this for a long time.
What advice would you give to aspiring T-pop artists who dream of forming a group.
You will never know what is going to happen in the future, but you know what you can give and spend during this present time so just go for it, everything you intend to do will be worth it.
Do what you believe in doing and you will never regret it no matter how it turns out or the results will be as you expected or not you will be proud at least you have already tried. Stay true to yourself!🤍

How do you create a unique and engaging rap style that complements DISSY’s overall sound?
I think for me rapping is very fun but some songs are very difficult as well. I usually spend a lot of time practicing and staying with it to get used to the songs. And every time I rap, I put my own touch and interpret the meaning of the song and enjoy rapping.
What are some of your favorite rappers and hip-hop artists, and how have they influenced your style?
Actually, I like a lot of people. I like Lisa from Blackpink because every time I see her on stage or whatever she does, she’s so charming to me. But if it’s about songwriting, I like Saran Maiyarap and F.Hero.
How do you collaborate with the other members to create a cohesive and dynamic performance?
Every rehearsal is very stressful because everyone wants to do their best. Whenever there’s stress, I always add color and give good energy to Dissy. I love all the members like my family, and I always believe that no matter how difficult things we face, we can always get through it.
What are your goals for your rap performance in DISSY, and how do you plan to continue improving?
We, Dissy, want to perform at Coachella. It might be a really big dream, but we’re going to make it happen. I’m the main rapper, but of course I also have to be good at singing and dancing. In the future, I’ll practice writing songs and playing music. Right now, I’m practicing guitar. And I always tell myself that no matter where I’m at, I have to keep improving and never stop improving.
How has being a member of DISSY helped you grow as an individual, both personally and professionally?
It makes me more responsible and I have to constantly develop myself more. Career-wise, I think that since I have chosen this path, I will do my best. Even though some things are difficult, I believe that I can do it.
What are some of the biggest lessons you’ve learned from each other as members of DISSY?
Dissy members had some pretty big fights. At one point, I even thought about giving up and wanting to go back to a simpler life. But I never told anyone.
For me, even though practice was hard, I could keep going. But working with people who disliked me and were prejudiced against me was incredibly difficult. I consulted with my band members, and we talked and came to an understanding, apologized, and didn’t hold grudges against each other. It taught me that we should speak frankly and not hold grudges, as this can lead to problems later on. For me, anything can cause problems, but when they arise, we just have to deal with them because we can’t control everything.
What message do you want to leave with your fans as DISSY embarks on its journey?
I used to be a streamer and I’m still doing it. Everything started from zero until now, I’ve gradually gained more and more fans. Thank you to everyone who supports me and Dissy. We will improve every time and will not disappoint you.
What advice would you give to aspiring T-pop artists who dream of forming a group?
Don’t just dream, take action, practice a lot and never stop improving yourself. I myself have auditioned for many agencies but never made it to the next round. If you do make it, don’t stop improving yourself.

As a sub-vocalist in DISSY, how do you contribute to the group’s overall sound and harmonies?
I can sing soft tones during the bridge to support the main vocalist, and I also take on lower parts in some sections, like slower rap lines that focus on deeper tones. Altogether, this helps add more layers and dimension to the song.
What are some of your favorite songs to sing, and how do you connect with the lyrics and emotions?
Like a Girl (ver.1). The first time I heard it, I felt deeply connected to both the melody and the message. The lyrics reflect all the insults and belittlement that a woman has to endure, but also her strength to fight back for herself. It gave me courage to face fears and encouragement during times of disappointment.
What are your goals for your vocal performance in DISSY, and how do you plan to continue improving?
My dream is to become the center for a song that truly suits my voice. But that doesn’t mean I won’t keep improving myself. My daily goal is to make my voice stronger, which is why I practice vocal warm-ups every day.
How has being a member of DISSY helped you grow as an individual, both personally and professionally?
Personally: I want to be someone who’s busy but happy working in the entertainment industry. Growing here means that people now know my name, Vivian from DISSY. Being part of a girl group also shaped my image as someone seen differently from ordinary people, as an artist.
Professionally: Being in the group has strengthened my singing and dancing, allowing us to deliver synchronized performances. This teamwork has made it possible for us to release music that people enjoy and follow.
What are some of the biggest lessons you’ve learned from each other as members of DISSY?
Understanding one another, both in words and actions. This is what allows us to stay together long-term. We always try to find common ground—if someone speaks with emotion, we calm it down; if someone is too stuck in their ego, we tone it down; and everyone should feel free to share ideas. Communication should be fair and not hurtful. Success requires doing both what we like and what we don’t like—it’s part of the journey, and we can’t only choose what we enjoy.
Accepting our own mistakes and being open to feedback. At first, criticism may feel uncomfortable, but then we must reflect and ask ourselves if it’s true. If it is, we accept it and grow from it
What message do you want to leave with your fans as DISSY embarks on its journey?
Thank you so much for supporting me and DISSY. Thank you for liking me, even on days when I don’t like myself. Thank you for talking to me, taking photos together, and bringing laughter. I truly appreciate every word of feedback and advice. I’m grateful that you look forward to our growth and future work. I promise our efforts will always honor the love and dedication you’ve given us.
What advice would you give to aspiring T-pop artists who dream of forming a group?
Anyone can do it, as long as you don’t give up too early. Visualize your dream every night, write it down, or even make a promise to someone you love. This path is not easy—if you’re not strong enough, it’s tough to endure.
Choosing your dream is great, but choosing the right support system for your dream is even more important. Opportunities can be good or bad, and no one knows which will come. So, give it your all.
