Get ready to “wink” along with us as we introduce VVINK! This five-member Filipina girl group is making waves with their debut album “VVINK: The Pre-Debut Album.” We’ll be exploring the meaning behind their unique name – representing wins forged through grit and growth – and discovering what makes this group so special. Let’s welcome Angelika, Ayaka, Jean, Mariel, and Odri!

Your name, VVINK, is cleverly designed. Can you elaborate on the meaning behind the double “V” and what it symbolizes for the group? How does this reflect your overall image and goals?

VVINK is a signal to join our movement—a beginning not just for us, but for anyone who relates to our story.

Double V stands for double victory and second chances. Coming from different shows, talent contests and paths, this group gave us a fresh start—to grow, begin again, and share the same passion for music we’ve always had.

second chances and double victory.”  How does this concept resonate with each member’s personal journey and the group’s aspirations?

Second chances and double victory perfectly captures both our individual growth and our goal as a group. Each of us has faced personal setbacks and we used them as fuel to rise again.

The ‘double victory‘ represents what happens when we combine those individual comebacks into a shared success. It’s not just one person winning—it’s all of us, together.

This is a second chance for us to chase our dreams, this time as VVINK. we aspire to show that it’s never too late to dream again, to rise again, and to win.

You’re described as “dynamic, grounded, and full of heart.” How do these qualities manifest in your music and performances?  Can you give specific examples?

For us, we always make sure to embrace the moment every time we perform on stage. Before we perform, we always have a routine to stay centered and to connect more with each other. We always start by praying together and then we share positive words to boost our energies. This routine helps us show a vibrant and heartfelt energy, which keeps our music dynamic and full of heart every time.

The “W” formed by the mirrored Vs symbolizes wins from grit and growth.  Can you share a story about a time the group faced a challenge and overcame it? What did you learn from that experience?

We’ve faced many challenges along the way—and that’s normal, because no journey is ever easy. But we believe challenges are what help us grow and learn. Every time we encounter one, we always find a way to face it together and push through.

We learned the importance of being there for each other. None of us can overcome challenges alone, but the five of us can. We lift each other up when things get tough, and we keep moving forward as one.

How do you balance honoring your past experiences with your bold steps towards the future?

We always remind ourselves that our past is what shaped us, so we never forget it. All the memories from our training days, the people who supported us early on, and even the challenges keep us grounded and grateful. But we also believe that growth means taking brave steps forward.

We use everything we’ve learned as a guide, but we don’t let it hold us back. It’s like carrying our roots with us while reaching for something bigger together as a group.

Your pre-debut album was a bold move, introducing each member with solo tracks. What was the reasoning behind this decision?  How did it contribute to the group’s overall sound and identity?

Each of us released two tracks for our pre-debut album to showcase our individuality, strengths, and personal styles—elements we later bring into the group. This not only highlights our unique talents but also contributes to the group’s overall sound and identity, showcasing our versatility.

What was the most challenging and rewarding aspect of creating the pre-debut album?

The most challenging part of creating our pre-debut album was definitely the pressure, we had a lot of doubts and frustrations about ourselves but those struggles made the rewarding part even more powerful.

Seeing the songs come together, we didn’t just make music, we told our stories. And hearing the people resonate with it, even before the official debut, has been the biggest reward. It reminded us why we started this journey in the first place.

How would you describe your musical style? What genres influence your sound?  Are there any artists you draw inspiration from?

VVINK’s music is actually based on our own experiences in life. With our upcoming album, there are songs that you can listen to when you’re happy, when you’re sad, or when you want to feel hyped, so it’s a mix of different genres!

We really enjoy listening and watching K-pop groups and we aim to be able to perform as well as them, but still add our unique charm to it. We want our music and performances to feel true to who we are.

The album is described as showcasing “heart, honesty, and style.”  How do you ensure these elements are present in your music?

We keep the “heart honesty and style” in our songs by really being part of making them. We share our own stories and ideas, suggest lyrics, and even come up with the adlibs and backing vocals ourselves so our different personalities show.

Since we’re involved from the start, the heart comes from our real experiences, the honesty from words we believe in, and the style from each member’s vibe. That way every track feels like us and not just something made for us.

What are your short-term and long-term goals as a group?  What kind of impact do you hope to make on the P-pop scene?

Our short-term goal is to keep growing as performers, releasing more music, connecting with fans through live shows, and sharing our story with people in and outside the Philippines. We want every stage we step on to show how much we’ve improved and how much we love what we do.

For the long term, we dream of helping P-pop reach more international audiences while staying true to our roots. We hope our journey inspires other young artists to chase their own dreams and reminds everyone that music can bring people together. Our biggest wish is for listeners to feel like they’re part of our journey every time they hear our songs.

What are you most excited about for your official debut?

We’re most excited to finally share our music and perform it live. After two years of training, the debut day is the moment we get to show everything we worked hard for. We’re also looking forward to meeting our supporters in person since they’ve been with us from the very beginning.

What message do you hope to convey to your fans through your music?

Through our music, we hope to connect with our fans, walking with them through life’s ups and downs. We hope our music can be something people turn to— whether they need comfort, something to celebrate with, or just a bit of motivation to keep them going in life.

How do you plan to connect with your audience and build a strong fanbase?

We plan to connect with our audience by being as genuine and interactive as possible. We love sharing behind-the-scenes moments, live updates, and personal stories on social media so fans can feel like they’re growing with us. We also want to spend time meeting them through fan events, small gigs, and live performances where we can really talk and listen.

Most of all, we’ll keep making music that reflects real feelings and experiences. We believe that when people see our honesty both on and off stage, they’ll feel a true bond with us and with each other, creating a fanbase that’s more like a family.
