YONLAPA is an indie-pop band from Chiang Mai, Thailand. Formed in 2019, the band draws inspiration from dream pop and psychedelia, blending those influences into their own unique sound.
In 2020, they released their debut EP First Trip, marking the official start of their musical journey. This was followed by their first full-length album, Lingering Gloaming (2023), which captures everyday feelings and moments through music that is tender, melancholic, and dreamlike—like drifting peacefully at dusk. At the beginning of 2024, YONLAPA held their first full-album concert in Bangkok, which sold out—a milestone that encouraged the band to step outside their comfort zone and connect with audiences in new places far beyond home.
Now, the band released a new EP, alongside tour plans across Asia and other regions they have never been before. YONLAPA would like to thank everyone who has been supporting them along the way—it means the world to them.
This album began with writing inspired by perspectives on everything in the world capturing certain emotions and viewpoints, then shaping them into music that balances both heaviness and lightness. Each song carries its own distinct character, yet they all share beautiful melodies and rich, layered arrangements. The lyrics continue to reflect the wide range of human emotions, with the hope that these songs can become a meaningful part of everyone’s life.
Velvet Love (Focus Track)
This song reflects on the past while reaching toward the future. It begins with the story of finding love too early, when maturity wasn’t yet there, leading to uncertainty and a sense of not truly belonging. From that reflection comes a deeper realization of what we really want in life: not just romance, but a love that feels like a best friend, like family, a place of emotional stability. A final home for the heart, with no need to move on anymore. Musically, it shines with a bright and lively rhythm, wrapped in dreamy riffs that capture the essence of dream pop.
With strong will and passion, we’re planning to take our music as far and wide as we can, bringing it to fans all around the world. So far, we’ve already booked shows in some of our favorite places, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and other beautiful countries across Southeast Asia. And we can’t wait to see you soon, wherever there’s love for our music!
