Today, we’re excited to chat with Jin Yeong, a passionate performer, content creator, and cultural advocate from Rizal, Philippines. For nearly a decade, Jin has dazzled audiences onstage and online, blending artistry with a mission to connect communities.

A pioneer dancer at the Philippine Arena since 2014, Jin’s career spans theatrical productions, live performances, and vibrant K-pop showcases at SM Mall events, where she celebrates Korean-Filipino cultural exchange through music and dance. Beyond the stage, she crafts inspiring vlogs and reels, offering glimpses into her creative world while spreading positivity.

Fluent in Korean and Filipino, Jin bridges cultures through her work with a Korean company, fostering mutual understanding and breaking down language barriers. Whether performing or creating digital content, her goal is simple: to unite people through joy, creativity, and shared stories.

Let’s explore her journey, inspirations, and vision for cultural connection!

You mentioned that performing is your greatest passion. Can you elaborate on what specifically draws you to performing arts, and what keeps you motivated in this field?

Since I was young, my father nurtured my love for singing, and I discovered joy in dancing as well. What began as a simple talent grew into a passion something my heart and body naturally seek, as if I was born to perform. Every time I sing or dance, I feel my confidence grow, and my soul is filled with a sense of fulfillment and happiness.

How did growing up in Rizal influence your artistic journey and your connection to performing?

I began performing through school and church activities, which later opened doors for me to appear in the largest indoor arena in the world and even in televised events. Along the way, I was taught the art of puppeteering, took part in countless rehearsals, auditioned for opportunities, and brought theatrical acts to life on stage. Each performance became a stepping stone, shaping my skills and helping me grow as an artist.

Being one of the pioneer dancers of the Philippine Arena must have been an incredible experience. What were some of the biggest challenges and rewards of being involved in such a significant project?

We began spending our days at the arena even while it was still under construction, with scaffolding and unfinished walls all around us. Over time, the place became like a second home, as countless rehearsals filled out every day. As the grand opening drew closer, I felt an incredible surge of energy and determination.

And when the day finally came, I was moved to tears hearing the entire arena echo with cheers, the roof almost shaking with the sound of the audience celebrating our performance.

You’ve been actively involved in theatrical productions. Could you describe a specific role or performance that was particularly meaningful to you, and why?

I was given the role of an ordinary Filipino resident in a scene depicting the time when the Philippines was attacked by Japanese soldiers.

This theatrical act portrayed the history and origins of the church of which I am a member. It was kinda challenging for me. But it challenges my inner talent to see if i can do more.

Can you share more about the training or experiences that have helped you hone your skills in singing, dancing, and acting?

I studied Korean on my own, starting with learning how to read letters and words. Later, I met some Korean friends through acquaintances, and spending time with them like playing, talking, and bonding, helped me practice and improve my speaking skills naturally. Using the language in singing at events further taught me how to pronounce words properly, just like a native speaker.

Along the way, my Korean friends also introduced me to the best ways to care for myself, from speaking confidently to pampering Korean products, which helped me groom myself with the charm and confidence just like a K-pop icon.

Your involvement in SM Mall Korean exchange cultural events is fascinating. How do you prepare for these performances, and what impact do you hope to make on the audience?

I strive to groom myself like a K-pop icon, carefully preparing my clothes and makeup before every performance.

Together with my duo, we rehearse not only the songs but also the proper pronunciation and delivery of the lyrics. We often choose popular K-pop hits or Korean OSTs, songs that the audience can sing along to, creating a lively and unforgettable connection with the crowd.

As a bilingual individual working with a Korean company, how do you leverage your language skills and cultural understanding to bridge gaps and promote collaboration?

I use my language skills and cultural understanding to serve as a bridge between people. Being fluent in both languages allows me to ensure smooth communication.

Whether in conversations, meetings, or written exchanges, so that ideas are clearly understood by everyone. I help build stronger collaboration, encourage teamwork, and create an environment where both Filipino and Korean colleagues feel understood and valued.

Can you give an example of a time when your bilingual abilities were particularly valuable in a professional or performance setting?

During one of my performances at a Korean cultural event, my bilingual skills became especially valuable. Many of the songs we performed were in Korean, and because I studied the language, I was able to pronounce the lyrics naturally and explain their meaning to a mixed Filipino-Korean audience.

Outside the stage, my bilingual ability also helped in content creation, I could translate trending Korean songs, phrases, and cultural references into relatable content for Filipino viewers.

What content do you enjoy creating and what messages do you aim to convey?

I love creating vlogs and diverse content, especially about my Korean friends and Korean culture. I also enjoy producing travel vlogs that capture new experiences and places. These themes not only reflect my passions but also attract a wider audience, as many people are curious and inspired by cultural exchanges and travel stories.

What are some of the most important values that guide you in your professional and artistic endeavors?

Some of the most important values that guide me in both my professional and
artistic journeys are passion, discipline, authenticity, and respect for culture.

Passion keeps me motivated to keep learning and improving my craft, while
discipline helps me stay consistent in rehearsals, performances, and content
creation.

Authenticity is very important to me. I want to inspire others by staying true to who I am, whether I’m performing, creating vlogs, or collaborating with
others. Lastly, respect for culture allows me to bridge differences, celebrate
diversity, and use my bilingual and artistic skills to connect.

What are your long-term goals as a performer and content creator? Where do you see yourself in the next 5-10 years?

I will be a successful vlogger
and content creator. This is my only main goal.

What specific projects or opportunities are you currently pursuing, and what excites you most about them?

I’m truly excited to become a vlogger, as it allows me to share my passions, experiences, and stories with a wider audience while inspiring others along the
way.

I have always been thankful
that, from a young age, I was
given the opportunity to share
my talents and bring joy to
the crowd. I am also deeply
grateful to my church, and to
our GOD which played a big
role in helping me build my
self-confidence and nurturing.

Any advice for those people who are just starting out in performing arts or content creation?

AIM FOR YOUR GOAL. Help
yourself.

Don’t be afraid to start small, every big performer or content creator once begins with simple steps.

The people connect most when you show your true self rather than trying to copy
others. And most importantly,
enjoy the journey whether it’s rehearsing, filming or sharing your work because the joy will naturally inspire others
