After heating things up with his latest single “Make You Mine,” NANON (Korapat Kirdpan), the multi-talented artist under RISER MUSIC, is back with a raw, no-holds-barred love song, “ไม่อยากรัก” (Shiftless), from his sophomore album SEVEN. The track frames love as a form of Sloth—one of the seven deadly sins—and reunites NANON with his longtime collaborator, producer Max Thitiwat Rongthong (Max of The Darkest Romance), to craft lyrics that gnaw at the soul. Rising actor Tata Tharaphon Pongniros joins the music video, amplifying the angst of those clinging to a love they can’t let go.

Nanon shared the story behind the song:

“The single ‘ไม่อยากรัก” (Shiftless) was quite a challenging concept because I wanted it to be easy for listeners to understand. It’s part of the ‘7 Deadly Sins’ concept from my album ‘SEVEN.’ I worked again with P’Max from The Darkest Romance as the producer for this album.

For ‘ไม่อยากรัก”  (Shiftless),’ I interpreted it as the sin of Sloth. I shared with P’Max that I wanted the song to express the feeling of not wanting to start a new relationship — being too tired to get to know someone new, and instead choosing to stay stuck in the past with the same person. That became the message you hear in the lyrics.

The story portrays a long-term relationship that’s been through both good and bad times, but when it hits a dead end, suddenly they have to part ways — raising the question of why?

In the music video, the story is set in a post-apocalyptic world destroyed by a virus, where two strangers must survive together. As they grow close, their bond deepens — but an event changes everything, forcing a difficult decision: will he fight to survive alone, or give up together with the love he can’t let go of?
