Artist Yous is back, and she’s ready to talk about surrendering.

Following the sharp, cautious debut of “PLOP!,” Yous is releasing her sophomore digital single, “LOVE FLU,” a brighter, warmer track that features the distinctive talents of H1GHR MUSIC’s Simaron. But this isn’t just a catchy pop-R&B tune; it’s a window into the mind of an artist finally letting down her guard.

The timing of the release—during October and November—is no accident. Yous calls this period “the season of colds,” making the single’s title a brilliant piece of wordplay. “I thought it would be the perfect moment to highlight the play on words in the title,” she explains. “A love that catches you like the flu—unexpectedly, and you just can’t shake it off.”

LOVE FLU” also arrives in two distinct versions, English and Korean. For Yous, who is comfortable expressing herself in both, this was an essential way to capture the full spectrum of the emotion.

“It’s one of my favorite things about songwriting—how the same feeling can take on a different shade when expressed in another tongue. I wanted listeners to be able to choose the version that truly resonates with their current feeling.”

From Fear to Full Immersion

While “PLOP!” was the sound of a protected heart—expressing resentment toward men who pull you in just to hurt you—”LOVE FLU” marks a powerful emotional shift. The new single acknowledges that even the deepest walls can crumble.

LOVE FLU

The song’s story unfolds between two individuals, perfectly captured by Simaron’s feature, which anchors the second verse and brings the dynamic to life. It’s the sound of Yous finally surrendering.

“I used to think living for myself was enough, that I didn’t need love to feel complete,” she shares, admitting that modern weariness has made many, including herself, see love as optional or even burdensome. “But love has a strange way of sneaking in when you least expect it, melting even the most guarded hearts. That paradox inspired everything about this song.”

A Broader Sound

To match this brighter, more layered emotional state, the musical landscape of “LOVE FLU” has expanded. Listeners can expect a departure from the debut, with the new track built on more guitar-driven and band-like elements.

The resulting sound is a richer, more textural pop-R&B that feels immediately more expansive. This dual-language, sonically diverse project not only gives us a deeper look into Yous’s personal journey but has also pushed her to grow as a writer. “Writing in both English and Korean forced me to think more deeply about phrasing and emotion, which has really helped me grow as a songwriter,” she concludes.

LOVE FLU” is more than just a single; it’s a relatable story of vulnerability and the beautiful, unavoidable messiness of catching feelings when you least expect—and least want—them.
