Known for her gentle voice and heartfelt storytelling, Chrisalia has become one of the emerging singer-songwriters capturing listeners through songs that feel honest, intimate, and deeply human. From the emotional resonance of “Rindu” to the touching sincerity of “Papa” and the reflective softness of “Akhir Cerita”, her music speaks to moments we often feel but struggle to put into words.

Chrisalia’s strength lies not in grand gestures, but in quiet truth — in the way her lyrics embrace vulnerability, and in how her melodies linger like thoughts we return to at the end of the day. Her artistry carries warmth, memory, and the courage to face one’s emotions with openness.

In this written interview, we learn more about the stories behind her songs, the personal experiences that shape her work, and how she continues to grow both as an artist and as an individual.

For those just discovering you — who is Cici Fei, and how did your journey as a singer begin?

I’m a singer and content creator who started singing at the age of 10. I used to perform and join singing competitions from mall to mall, and later became a vocal coach and a band vocalist. But deep down, my lifelong dream was to step into the solo spotlight and share my own stories through my music, to have my own songs that people can listen to and connect with. That’s how this journey began.

Who are some artists that have inspired or shaped your musical direction?

Bruno Mars, definitely. He’s the whole package — incredible amazing vocals, stage presence, and performance energy. I really admire how he brings emotion and entertainment together.

How would you describe your signature sound — and how do you see it evolving?

My signature sound is mostly emotional and heartfelt — what people would call galau vibes. I always try to make it original, with my own touch and inspiration from my team. But I’m also open to exploring beyond ballads. I want to challenge myself to create something more upbeat and fresh in the future.

Congratulations on your new single coming out on October 24th! What can you tell us about it?

Thank you! This new single is really special because it completes the trilogy of songs inspired by my own love experiences. It’s called “Akhir Cerita”, and it represents closure — a mix of acceptance and strength. It’s cinematic pop, which is quite different from my previous releases.

How do you feel as the release date approaches — excited, nervous, or a mix of both?

Definitely a mix of both! I’m super excited because this song means a lot to me, but there’s always that little nervous feeling before sharing something so personal with the world.

How does this new single differ from “Rindu” in terms of style or emotion?

Rindu” was more about longing and uncertainty — still hoping and asking questions. Meanwhile, “Akhir Cerita” feels stronger and more mature. It’s about letting go, acceptance, and being brave enough to start over. The sound is also more cinematic, giving it a bigger and deeper atmosphere.

What inspired this upcoming release — is there a personal story behind the song?

Yes, it’s inspired by my own story. “Akhir Cerita” is the final chapter of a love journey that started from my previous songs. It’s a reflection of my real emotions — mixed feelings of sadness, peace, and courage to move forward.

What emotions or message do you hope listeners will take away when they hear it?

I hope listeners remember that sometimes an ending isn’t a bad thing — it’s closure. I want them to feel relieved, not just sad, because every ending also means the beginning of something new. Hopefully, this song feels like a small hug for anyone who’s learning to let go.

What has been the most meaningful moment in your music career so far?

The moment I decided to go solo. It took a lot of courage to step out on my own and chase my dream of releasing my own songs. That was a big turning point for me.

How do you stay connected with your fans and keep them part of your journey?

I stay active on social media — chatting with them through livestreams, comments, or DMs. Even if I can’t reply to everyone one by one, I always read their messages. Their support means so much to me.

What challenges have you faced in building your career, and how did you overcome them?

One of the biggest challenges is learning to take feedback from people around me — whether it’s about my music or performance — and using it to grow.

Also, keeping up with daily content creation can be tough. I overcome it by always learning, following trends, accepting input, and most importantly, staying true to myself so I can spread genuine positivity through my work.

What are your long-term goals as a singer and performer?

My goal is to be a professional singer known for songs that touch people’s hearts and stories they can relate to. I also hope my content can inspire others and bring light and blessings to many people.

If you could collaborate with any artist dead or alive, who would be your dream duet partner?

Bruno Mars, 100%! I’m such a huge fan of him — his voice, energy, and stage performance are everything I look up to.

What’s one song (besides your own) that you’ve had on repeat lately?

All or Nothing” by O-Town. I really love the melody, the lyrics, and how emotional it feels.

What’s one thing your fans might be surprised to learn?

That I eat a lot — seriously, I can eat so much — but I don’t like drinking plain water! I always choose coffee instead.

Do you have a message for fans eagerly waiting for your October 24th release?

Don’t be afraid to walk away when something hurts more than it makes you happy. Disappointment is normal, but don’t let it control you. Learn to accept and let go, because behind every goodbye, there’s a new beginning. You deserve to be happy, and it’s absolutely okay to choose yourself.
