For 25 years, Talahib has been a vibrant force in Filipino world music — blending indigenous instruments, folk elements, and contemporary world-music influences into a sound that is uniquely their own. Formed in 2000, the group has performed in cultural festivals, art spaces, and major stages both in the Philippines and abroad, earning recognition for their dynamic arrangements and spirited performances.
Known for their rich instrumentation and rhythmic interplay, Talahib’s music carries
the energy of collaboration and the diversity of Filipino cultural expressions. Over the years, the group has evolved while staying true to its mission of celebrating Filipino identity through music.
This 2025, the band marks its silver milestone with “TALAHIB 25: 25th Anniversary Concert,” happening on November 30, 2025, at the historic Baluarte de San Diego in Intramuros. Produced by Blackstar Entertainment and in partnership with the Intramuros Administration, the concert will revisit the band’s musical journey through refreshed arrangements, signature pieces, and performances that highlight their artistry and chemistry as a collective.
“For lead guitarist Burn Belacho, the anniversary is a moment to honor the group’s growth and longevity: “For us, Talahib has always been about expression and connection,” Belacho shares. “Every performance is a shared experience — with each other and with the audience. Reaching 25 years feels surreal, and playing in a historical venue makes the celebration even more special.”
The event also supports WWF-Philippines, aligning with the group’s commitment to promoting cultural awareness alongside meaningful causes.
