There’s something quietly powerful about artists who let their music speak with both honesty and soul—and that’s exactly what Monday Off with Bluesy brings to the table.

Blending raw emotion with smooth, blues-infused melodies, Bluesy crafts a sound that feels both intimate and timeless, resonating with listeners who crave authenticity in every note.

In this exclusive feature, we sit down with Bluesy to talk about the story behind the band, the inspirations that shape their sound, and the creative journey that continues to evolve with every release.

For readers discovering you for the first time, how would you introduce Monday Off With Bluesy?

Monday Off With Bluesy is an indie band based in Seoul.

We try to create music that captures small emotions and moments from everyday life.

Rather than focusing on complexity, we care more about atmosphere, melody, and the feeling a song leaves behind.

Your band name is very unique. What does “Monday Off With Bluesy” represent?

Monday usually marks the beginning of a busy week.

We liked the idea of turning that feeling around — imagining Monday as a day where you can slow down and breathe with music.

The name reflects that small escape from everyday life.

How did the members meet and decide to form the band?

Most of us met through the live music scene in Seoul.

We started out playing together casually through friends and performances, and we realized the musical chemistry felt very natural.

From there, the band formed quite organically.

What was the original vision for the band?

At the beginning, our goal was very simple.

We just wanted to keep making music we genuinely liked and play it live.

Over time, that vision grew into wanting to share our music with more people and perform in different places.

How would you describe your musical identity?

Our music is more about mood and emotion than fitting into a specific genre.

We try to create songs that feel warm, atmospheric, and honest.

Melody and space in the sound are very important to us.

What usually inspires your songwriting?

Most of our inspiration comes from everyday life.

Things like late-night thoughts, relationships, and small memories often become the starting point of a song.

Sometimes a simple melody or guitar line can spark the whole idea.

Can you walk us through your creative process for a track like “Blue Garden”

Usually a song begins with a simple idea — a melody, chord progression, or riff.

Then we bring it to the band and develop the arrangement together.

While working on the track, we always think about how it will feel when played live.

How do the members contribute to the band’s overall sound?

Each member brings slightly different musical influences.

Some focus more on melody and songwriting, while others shape the arrangement and sound.

Those differences naturally come together and form the band’s identity.

Among songs like “Bokeh,” “Lotus,” or “Highball,” which feels the most personal?

Each song reflects a different moment for the band.

But “Bokeh” feels especially meaningful because it captures the atmosphere and emotional direction we wanted to express as a band.

How do you think your sound has evolved since your debut?

In the beginning our songs were quite simple in structure.

Over time we’ve tried to expand the sound and explore more layers and textures.

We’re still learning and evolving with every release.

Are there any musical experiments you’d like to explore in the future?

We don’t try to limit ourselves to a specific genre.

We’re always interested in exploring new sounds and atmospheres while keeping our core identity.

How would you describe the atmosphere of your live performances?

Our live shows usually feel quite intimate.

We like creating a space where the audience and the band share the same emotional moment through music.

What has been your most memorable stage moment?

One of the most memorable moments is when the audience connects with the music in real time — singing along or reacting emotionally.

Those moments remind us why we started the band.

Do you approach live performances differently from studio recordings?

Yes, definitely.

Live performances often have more energy and spontaneity.

Sometimes we even change arrangements slightly to make the songs feel more alive on stage

How do you see the Korean indie scene today?

The Korean indie scene is very diverse and constantly evolving.

Many artists are exploring their own unique styles, which makes the scene exciting.

Would you like to perform internationally?

Yes, absolutely.

We actually had the chance to be listed on the lineup for Very Festival in Thailand for two consecutive years, but unfortunately both events were cancelled.

It was quite disappointing for us because we were really looking forward to meeting audiences there.

Because of that experience, we hope even more strongly to perform internationally in the future and connect with listeners in different countries.

What message would you like to share with international listeners?

Even if you’re hearing our music for the first time, we hope you can simply enjoy the feeling of it.

Music can connect people beyond language, and we’re grateful whenever someone listens to our songs somewhere in the world.

What are your goals as a band in the next few years?

Our biggest goal is to keep making good music and playing more shows.

We also hope to reach more listeners outside Korea and perform on stages around the world.
