Emerging as a fresh force in the local music landscape, P-pop girl group VVINK is ready to leave a lasting mark with their debut record It Starts With A Wink – The First Full Album. Crafted and trained by the minds behind FlipMusic—one of the pillars shaping modern Original Pilipino Music—this five-member act brings a bold, relatable energy rooted in Filipino identity while standing on global artistry.

The Meaning Behind the Name

More than just a moniker, VVINK carries deep symbolism: it stands for Double Victory Two Vs that roar for each other to form a W, representing collective triumph after years of training and growth. It embodies resilience, second chances, and the belief that those who once faced defeat can build something meaningful together. At its heart, VVINK is a celebration: five Filipinas daring to dream side-by-side, offering a group the community can truly cheer for.

An Album Built for Connection

At a time when full-length albums have become rare in the streaming era, It Starts With A Wink is designed as a complete artistic statement. True to FlipMusic’s signature approach, it draws inspiration from everyday emotions, familiar storytelling, and shared Filipino experiences—creating an unspoken bond between artist and listener.

The album flows seamlessly as one cohesive journey. It opens with the atmospheric “I-N-T-R-O”, before moving into bright, playful tracks like “TULALA” and the energetic “BADUY”. An interlude bridges into deeper territory: the heartfelt “TATLONG HILING”, dreamy “KAILAN KAA MIN”, and genre-blending “TULOG PA SI GANDA”—which mixes Jersey Style Beat, Funky House, and Miami Bass influences.

The record’s core, “PAG-BIG FUN”, captures the youthful spirit of the group, while tracks like “IKAW LANG ANG KULANG”, “OO”, and “Zzz Zzz” shift smoothly between modern production and vintage warmth, evoking a nostalgic yet fresh vibe. A heartfelt tribute to parents follows in “IKAW IKAW”, before the album closes on a powerful note: “IT’S A RAP” showcases sharp vocals and a grand finish, capped by the brief, teasing “VVINK”—hinting at more music still to come.

Sound That Feels Authentically Local

Sonically, the album balances bright, approachable melodies with intentional OPM textures—natural phrasing, familiar emotional tones, and a sound distinctly Filipino. It avoids chasing fleeting trends, instead refining the P-pop landscape by keeping the music accessible, sincere, and true to FlipMusic’s long-standing sonic signature. Before this debut album, VVINK already released 10 pre-debut tracks, carefully building their discography with focus on continuity, emotional depth, and artistry over quick visibility.
